New to running? Returning after a long pause or injury? All of our runs are designed to cater for a mixed range of abilities, and all paces and fitness levels are welcome.


Thursday, 20th June
  • Time: 7pm (for a 7.15pm start)
  • Place: Meet on the pavement outside the Mulberry Pub, Goring-by-Sea (Google Maps)
  • Parking: Should be parking available on Sea Lane

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF START TIME! As most of you will know, our usual time clashes with England playing in the Euros. Therefore, as a one-off, we’ll start a smidge later than usual and outside a footbally pub, so that anyone who wants to watch the game beforehand can do so. C’MON ENGLAND!

Different options: 12km10km7.9km and run-walk.

Tuesday, 25th June
  • Time: 6.30pm (for a 6.45pm start)
  • Place: Outside the Gallops playground, near Bost Hill (Google Maps)
  • Parking: Free parking either in the Bost Hill car park (here); West Mill car park (here); or on Vale Drive or the surrounding roads.
  • Optional drink (and football chanting) at The Valley Sports Bar afterwards

Again, England will be playing in the Euros at 8pm, so we guarantee that we’ll be finished and in The Valley Sports Bar long before kick-off at 8pm.

Wednesday, 26th June

This isn’t strictly a Gazelles’ session, but could be fun. A group organise a monthly ‘Magic Mile’ at Preston Park in Brighton. Entirely free, and you can run, jog or walk it. No registration involved beforehand (you give your name shortly before the start).

Thursday, 27th June

Something a bit different this week! Our trail-running guru, Bryan, has kindly put together two courses (7.7km and 13km) for us to run, using only printed course descriptions to guide you (i.e. no run leaders or GPX files!). In teams of 4-5 ish, we will set you off in staggered starts with a set of instructions to see how you get on!

If you’re able to, please consider bringing your phone with you this week, just in case there’s a problem and you end up in Horsham!

Saturday, 29th June
  • Time: 12.30pm for the Seniors; 12.10pm for the Juniors
  • Distance: 5 miles (8km) for the Seniors; 1 mile (1.6km) for the Juniors
  • Place: Downlands Community School, Dale Avenue, Hassocks, BN6 8LP (Google Maps)
  • Cost: £5 in advance for Seniors, £7 on the day if spaces available. £1 for Juniors.
  • Deadline: Saturday, 22nd June

Course: Approx 5 mile multi terrain flat course through fields, footpaths and woodland trails.

Limited parking available at the school however additional public car parks available in the local village. Please car share where possible and be considerate when parking.

Water available on course and at the finishline. Please bring your re-usable cups.  Changing facilities and toilets available within the school sports center.

Wednesday, 3rd july

  • Distances: 6 miles (10km) for the Seniors; 1 mile (1.6km) for the Juniors
  • Place: The Clock Tower, Steyning High Street, BN44 3LE (Google Maps)

NEW COURSE FOR 2024!: The race begins at the Clock Tower in Steyning High Street and heads west up Mouse Lane. After a challenging climb up to the South Downs Way (the Beeches), athletes run along the SDW and descend through Chalkpit Wood to return along Mouse Lane and into the old Rifle Range to finish in the Memorial Field.

AGE LIMIT: Entries for the Roundhill Romp are restricted to athletes aged 15 or over on the day of the race.

MINI ROMP: A 1-mile Mini Romp will be held for younger runners under the age of 16 on the day of the race. The course for this junior event remains within the Memorial Field. Race start at 7pm.

LATE ENTRIES: Entries on the night (cash only) subject to spaces available. Entries on the night will only be permitted if numbers have not already been allocated. Late entry fee £10 for Seniors, £1 for Juniors. Late entry closes at 7pm for the Roundhill Romp and 6.30pm for the Mini Romp. The Late Entry desk and race number collection will be located at our clubhouse in Charlton Street.

FACILITIES: Refreshments and licensed bar at the finish.

HEADPHONES: Headphones are not to be worm under any circumstances.

Tuesday, 16th July
  • Time: 6.30pm (for a 6.45pm start)
  • Place: Brooklands Park, Lancing (Google Maps)
  • Parking: The car park at Brooklands is free after 6pm, but space is limited. There is also residential parking nearby in surrounding roads, such as St Paul’s Avenue.

Phina to lead a session of 600m, 800m and 1km reps. There is a ‘big’ lap (420m) and a ‘small’ lap (300m). We’ll have two periods of 12 minutes to do reps of your chosen distance, with a short recovery after each one.

Please note that the session is at the cycling track on the North side of Brooklands Park (see here). It is all tarmac, so road shoes are required.

This is a 5K race hosted by a local running club, Brighton Frontrunners, to raise money for local causes as part of Brighton Pride. Information and entries is on their website.
